ArtEDventures
Art EDventures is a PTA program designed to educate students about famous artists and art forms. The lessons provide the students with an appreciation for art via fun, age-appropriate, hands-on projects. Each grade attends the art studio 2-3 times per year. The program is intended to enhance classroom learning by providing lessons with specific cross-curricular ties to the Georgia Education Standards for each grade level.
All the lessons are held in the Art EDventures art studio and last one hour. In addition to an art studio, the Art EDventures program has a dedicated laptop and PC projector for use during the lesson. All artist presentations are pre-loaded on the laptop for ease of use.
Three parent volunteers are needed for each lesson. One parent volunteer is the Lead Parent who introduces the artist to the students and leads the presentation. Two additional parent volunteers are needed to assist with the art project. No art background or talent is needed. The PTA supplies all of the program information, training and art supplies that the volunteers will need.
