Welcome to Summit Hill PTA!. We look forward to having parents involved in their child’s education and in the school. Please find below a summary of volunteer positions.

Discovery Lab: Assists with YOUR CHILD’S CLASS in the school’s science lab with hands-on experiments and demonstrations. All labs are scripted for volunteers and no experience is necessary.

Art EDventures: Assists with YOUR CHILD’S CLASS with hands-on lessons and projects. Training is provided by volunteers and no art experience is necessary.

Media Center: Assists with checking in/out library materials and reshelving books.

Copy Center: Reproduces and collates classroom materials for teachers by request.

Portfolio Nights: Assists with ordering supplies, assembling display folders and advertising event.

Book Fair: Assists with decorations, displays, sales, and set up/clean up (held in January).

Front Office Volunteers: Assists with directing school visitors, volunteers, and parents attending “special events.” Also assists with Picture Days and Vision & Hearing Screening Day.

Newcomer Orientation: Provides a warm and friendly welcome and tours to families who are new to Summit Hill. Tours are prescheduled on an as needed basis.

Hospitality: Provides refreshments and decorations for PTA-sponsored meetings and programs.

Environmental Education/Recycling: Coordinates environmental activities throughout the school year, including recycling collections and the Earth Week celebration in April.

Family Fun Nights: Organizes several annual events sponsored and funded by the PTA.

Health & Wellness: Provides information on promoting healthy lifestyles through the Healthy Adventures program and newsletter articles.

Community Service Outreach: Creates opportunities to “give back” through food and clothing drives and service activities in the community.

Grounds Beautification: Assists with the outside beautification of the school grounds through scheduled “Grounds Clean-up” days (weekends) and “Parents’ Morning Out” days (weekdays).

Yearbook/Scrapbook: Takes pictures at school events you normally attend and submits them for the yearbook and the school scrapbook.

Family Carnival: Plans and implements a school-wide, family-centered event that promotes school spirit and community involvement (held in October).
